Morrisville, N.C. — A 29-year-old man was killed in a single-car crash in Morrisville.
The crash occurred on Chapel Hill Road between Airport Boulevard and Southport Drive around 3 a.m.
Police said Robert Jackson, of Chapel Hill, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox when he lost control of the car, crossed the center line and ran off the road. Jackson hit several trees, police said, before the car stopped on its roof.
Jackson was ejected from the car and died at the scene of the crash, police said. Jackson was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred.
A passenger in the car, Marcus O’Briant, of Durham, was taken to WakeMed Cary with serious injuries.
Police said although speed and alcohol contributed to the crash, it is currently unknown to what degree.
