4 wounded in shooting at Eastridge Mall in Gastonia, suspect arrested

GASTONIA, N.C. (WTVD) — A teen has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting at the Eastridge Mall in Gastonia, according to police.

Officers in Gastonia responded to calls about a shooting at the mall at around noon. Upon arrival, officials found two men and a woman with gunshot wounds inside the mall food court. All three victims were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Gastonia police later found the suspect, a teen, in the woods near a handgun.

Officials say another discarded handgun was found in the food court area of the mall.

After the interview, the teen was charged with multiple felony offenses related to the shooting.

There is no more information at this time as police continue to investigate.
