Camp Lejeune investigating deaths of 3 children

Jacksonville, N.C. — Three children have died at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville.

A spokesperson for the base said the deaths happened on April 16 on two occasions. Marines did not release the ages of the children or the causes of death. However, they did say none of the children were shot.

“Out of respect for the families and the investigative process, we are not providing additional information,” a spokesman for Camp Lejeune said.

The U.S. Naval Criminal Investigative Service is investigating the deaths.
