Raleigh, N.C. — A man was charged Thursday in a multi-car crash that killed two people on Louisburg Road in Raleigh.
According to police, four vehicles and six people total were involved in the crash near Valley Stream Drive before 11:45 p.m. Two were pronounced dead at the scene, and three were transported to WakeMed with serious injuries, two of those with traumatic injuries. The sixth person sustained very minor injuries in the crash.
Police said Jeylin Molina-Duran, 21, was traveling north on Louisburg Road when his BMW 328i struck a Hyundai Elantra that was also traveling north.
The impact from the crash caused the Elantra to spin, and it was struck by a Honda Civic, according to police. The Elantra went into the right lane, where it was struck a third time by a Toyota Camry.
A 21-year-old woman driving the Elantra and a 26-year-old man driving the Civic died in the crash.
Molina-Duran was charged with two counts of felony death by vehicle and transported to the Wake County Detention Center.
An investigation is ongoing.
A witness told WRAL News the crash happened at an intersection, sending debris flying into nearby yards.
Glass fragments and other debris littered the road.
