Fayetteville, N.C. — A man rammed into the back of a police car during the Fayetteville Rotary Christmas Parade on Saturday afternoon while wielding a knife, officials said.
Two police officers were able to disarm the man and took him into custody.
One of the officers suffered minor injuries, but is expected to be OK.
The man was being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center and is facing several charges, officials said.
WRAL Fayetteville reporter Gilbert Baez and his wife Doris took part in the parade.
The Fayetteville community was excited, Baez said, because last year’s parade was canceled.
