— Littleton police say a man shot and killed the mother of his child during a domestic violence situation on Tuesday morning. The shooting happened just before 7 a.m. on Little Drive.

Jamazia Tillery is wanted for the murder of Montasia Arrington. Tillery is also wanted for discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a felon in connection to the shooting.

Arrington’s mother, Teressa Arrington, was also injured in the shooting. Police said after being shot, Teressa Arrington jumped in a car and drove to get help. She made it half-a-mile down the road where she stopped at a gas station and honked her car’s horn over and over until she got help. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. Police did not give an update on her condition.

Police said Tillery and Montasia Arrington’s toddler was in the home at the time of the shooting but is safe.

“I hate it for the families involved. I hate it for young people … I hate it for the families,” said Littleton resident William Rodwell.

Tillery, who is a registered sex offender, was charged two weeks ago for attacking Montasia Arrington with a knife. In that incident, police said she was able to run to another apartment and call for help.
