Pickup truck crashes into Wake Forest jewelry store

Wake Forest, N.C. — A pickup truck smashed into a Wake Forest jewelry store late Wednesday night.

The crash occurred before 11:30 p.m. at Vianna Jewelers at 2010 South Main St. Police told WRAL News the driver was impaired.

The pickup truck smashed through a brick wall and came to a stop inside the building, which had extensive damages.

Debris covered the parking lot, and the building was still taped off Thursday morning.

The condition of the driver was not provided.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
