Police investigating deaths of 2 infant siblings in Rocky Mount

The Rocky Mount Police Department said it is investigating the deaths of 2 infant siblings Saturday.

Rocky Mount police said officers responded to an EMS call in reference to 2 unresponsive juveniles around 9:20 a.m. Saturday,

Upon arrival, police said they found a 3-month-old baby and his 1-year-old sister and transported them both to the hospital.

Both of the siblings were pronounced death at the hospital.

Police said The North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating the cause of death for both children, but Rocky Mount police said the circumstances around the deaths were considered suspicious.

The Rocky Mount Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and the Department of Social Services are also actively investigating the deaths.
