Raleigh, N.C. — Scattered showers and a cold front brought hail and lightning to some parts of Wake County.
Residents in Raleigh, Wake Forest and Fuquay-Varinia reported seeing small hail for around five minutes.
Temperatures were 10 to 20 degrees cooler on Friday morning compared to the same time Thursday. Highs will reach 65 degrees and it will be a mild day.
Not everyone will see rain on Friday morning and showers will be light and spotty.
Friday will also be be windy with gusts as high as 30 mph.
By sundown, temperatures are going to be in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Temperatures are going to drop even more for on Saturday, according to WRAL meteorologist Zach Maloch.
“Spotty light rain showers are also possible, but the majority will stay dry,” he said.
Our chance of rain will decrease on Sunday and skies will be mostly clear. A patch of frost, especially in counties east of Wake County, cannot be ruled out.
Sunday will be mostly sunny with temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
The first half of the new work week is already looking warmer than the weekend, with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s.
