Raleigh looks to bring back July 4th fireworks display

Here are few events happening this weekend:

Morrisville July 3rd Family Fun Festival (Morrisville family fun festival, Town Hall Drive, Morrisville) – The Town of Morrisville will host a family fun festival on July 3 to celebrate Independence Day. The event will be held on Town Hall Drive with more family-oriented attractions than previous years. There will be live entertainment, magic shows, food trucks, stilt walkers, roving entertainment, face painters, family-friendly games, prize giveaways and fireworks.

July 3 Fireworks Frenzy in Apex (Hunter Street Park, 1250 Ambergate Station) – Apex’s first-ever fireworks display and event features music, food trucks, and bounce houses. Fireworks kick off around 9:30 p.m. over Hunter Street Park.

Garner July 3rd Independence Day Celebration (Lake Benson Park, 921 Buffaloe Rd, Garner) – Garner’s annual celebration will be held on July 3 with the North Carolina Symphony, fireworks and food vendors. There will be parking at the park as well as a free shuttle service from South Garner High to the park. Gates open and shuttle service starts at 5 p.m.

Town of Clayton Square to Square Independence Day Street Festival (Clayton – Main Street, East Main Street, Clayton) – The Town of Clayton will celebrate Independence Day on July 2 with games, activities and more fun on Main Street from Town Square to Horne Square. Things kick off at 10 a.m. with a bike parade, followed by a street festival with a hot dog eating contest, food trucks, water slides and rock climbing walls.

Durham Bulls Athletic Park

Fuquay-Varina Independence Day Celebration (Fuquay Varina Community Center South Park, 900 S Main St, Fuquay-Varina) – The Town of Fuquay-Varina will hold its annual Independence Day celebration on July 1 at South Park. There will be a concert from Spare Change starting at 6:30 p.m. There will also be fireworks and food trucks.

Wake Forest Fireworks Spectacular (Heritage High School, 1150 Forestville Rd, Wake Forest) – The Town of Wake Forest will hold its annual fireworks spectacular on July 3 at Heritage High School from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The fun continues on July 4 with a children’s parade at 10:30 a.m. in downtown Wake Forest.

EnoFest – The 2022 EnoFest will return to Durham on July 2 and 4 at West Point on the Eno City Park in Durham.

Music, Comedy and Movies

Train: AM Gold Tour – Train brings its “AM Gold Tour” to Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek in Raleigh on Friday night. The band will be joined by Jewel, Blues Traveler and Will Anderson.

Meet the minions and Gru in Cary on Saturday – The minions will be in theaters this weekend in the new film “Minions: The Rise of Gru.” The Fenton development will host “Minions Mania” on Saturday featuring giveaways and a chance to meet the minions and Gru.

Tim Meadows plays Goodnights Comedy Club – See this actor and comedian on stage at Goodnights Comedy Club in Raleigh Thursday through Saturday.

Durham Central Park presents PLAYlist Concert Series (Durham Central Park, 502 Foster St., Durham) – Enjoy some live music at Durham Central Park on the first Friday of each month. This month’s performer is Wesley Noog, a multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, song writer, and band leader.

MAKRS @ Golden Belt (Mill No. 1, 800 Taylor Street, Durham) – More than 40 local vendors will be at Golden Belt Campus on the first Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will also be live music and food.

Wonderbop (Boxyard RTP, 900 Park Offices Drive, Durham) – It’s the first Saturday of the month at Boxyard, and that means it’s time for Wonderbop! This monthly event is designed to get RTP turned up and inspired with live music, DJing, spoken word and more. It runs from 5 to 8 p.m.
